Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Burnsville, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to compliance standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll efficiently and accurately using industry-standard software such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce.
• Manage benefits administration, including 401k and RRSP contributions, ensuring proper deductions and compliance.
• Maintain and audit payroll records for accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to address payroll discrepancies and resolve employee inquiries.
• Implement and oversee payroll systems to streamline processes and improve functionality.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Assist in year-end reporting and tax filings to meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitor updates in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
• Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Evaluate and enhance payroll procedures to achieve operational efficiency. Requirements • Proven experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, and similar software.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, benefit administration, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting functions, including auditing and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with industry-specific tools such as About Time and other accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with employees and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of compliance standards and payroll-related legal requirements.
