Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and media-savvy Assistant Account Manager to support client account teams with research, writing, media outreach, and content development. This is an ideal role for someone who loves writing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is interested in growing within the PR/marketing industry. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who enjoys writing, is resourceful, knows how to follow through, and is excited by the opportunity to support high-impact PR and marketing campaigns for clients in legal, finance, and real estate sectors.
Key Responsibilities
• Media Relations Support
• Develop and maintain targeted media lists
• Draft compelling media pitches and press releases
• Conduct consistent follow-up with media contacts via email and phone
• Track and capture media placements
• Organize and maintain pitching materials and briefing sheets
• Content Creation
• Write content across formats: blog posts (500–1500 words), newsletters, social media, and email marketing
• Craft creative and engaging posts based on media placements and client initiatives
• Draft thought leadership content on topics such as intellectual property, financial planning, tax policy, and market trends
• Research & Intelligence Gathering
• Conduct competitive and industry research to support client positioning
• Create briefing documents on journalists, organizations, and speaking opportunities
• Analyze tone and editorial voice for targeted publications
• Compile deep-dive reports on companies or sectors (e.g., renewable energy investors in California)
• Client Support
• Assist with internal meeting prep, including setting agendas and organizing notes
• Provide behind-the-scenes support on client deliverables
• Help manage content calendars and reporting documents
• Collaborate with team members on strategy development and execution

Requirements
• 1+ years of experience in public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in media research tools and social media platforms
• Familiarity with PR and marketing tools such as HubSpot, Meltwater, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with media databases (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack) and project management tools
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Tenacious and proactive — follows up without being prompted and enjoys solving problems independently
• Highly resourceful and self-motivated with a “figure it out” mindset
• Comfortable conducting outreach and follow-up with media professionals
Preferred Experience
• Background in or exposure to sectors like law, finance, real estate, or professional services
