Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing compliance and reporting for indirect taxes including sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and other transactional taxes across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of indirect tax laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced, multi-state or global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare, review, and file indirect tax returns (sales/use, VAT, GST, etc.) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
+ Manage tax data collection, reconciliation, and analysis to ensure accurate reporting.
+ Monitor changes in indirect tax legislation and assess impacts to the business.
+ Research and resolve tax issues and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
+ Support audits by tax authorities, including document preparation and response coordination.
+ Collaborate with accounting, finance, legal, and IT departments to ensure accurate tax treatment of transactions.
+ Review and maintain tax engine configurations (e.g., Vertex, Avalara) and ERP system settings.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
+ Assist in tax planning initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
+ 4+ years of experience in indirect tax, preferably in a large corporation or public accounting firm.
+ Strong understanding of U.S. sales/use tax and international VAT/GST rules.
+ Experience with tax compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Vertex, Avalara).
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
+ High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
