SALES TECHNICIAN (FOODSERVICE) - CORPORATE OFFICE (AUSTIN, MN)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Pricing administrator for foodservice, transmits pricing to Sysco, US Foods, and Gordon Foodservice on a weekly basis. Responsible for the accuracy of this pricing, coordinating weekly price changes with the distributors, and validating program rates on net pricing programs, which accounts for over $720,000,000 in sales annually. Downloads the pricing files for each customer’s unique pricing format and coordinates directly with IT. Then timely distributes Sysco and GFS order changes and updates to the field sales team. Is the primary iTrade FS contact, and is responsible for mapping all items for Foodservice in the iTrade System.
+ Gathers, organizes, and prepares data for sales reports used in customer presentations, program auditing, and business planning. The sales data and statistics are collected from a variety of sources: HDS, SFA, Foodservice Headquarter Reports, US Foods Cook Book Sales Analytics program through their portal, and customized reporting from IT. The data is compiled and this position creates top line analytical reports for internal management, customers, and the sales field. In addition, this information is used for corporate annual business reviews with senior management at the top 7 foodservice distributors. Enters PPMP tickets when new reports are needed to be created, and works alongside of the IT department to correct any issues with existing reports, which is found during the auditing process.
+ Develops top-line fact based category reviews for Foodservice customers/ Hormel Foodservice Sales teams. This includes gathering and analyzing the data provided by the Foodservice distribution customers (i.e. US Foodservice- Cookbook).
+ Handles a variety of internal and external customer contacts on a daily basis (Operations, R&D, Packaging, Logistics, Legal, IT, Accounting, Credit, EDI Support, iTrade, etc.) Most notably, the incumbent handles timely and sensitive external customer calls and emails from our largest Foodservice customers, such as Sysco, US Foods, and Gordon FS, regarding item information, EDA (Earned Distributor Allowance) audits, and program questions.
+ The performance of secretarial duties to the Assistant VP of Sales – Distribution & K12 and team designated management personnel within the Foodservice Group; including but not limited to typing, operating computer programs, filing, organizing schedules, collect and organize sales and customer data, building Power Point sales presentations, compiling reports, order office supplies and other administrative assistance as necessary.
+ Gather, set up and maintain distributor key account information, headquarters program information, focus fund program, and promotional accrual program. This includes utilization of the Sales Inquiry System and specialized programs that deal with customer statistics.
+ Responsible for gathering data surrounding distributor conferences. This includes registration, setting appointments, working with the Salesforce team, creating tonnage reports from HDS, gathering show reports and any other admin duties related to the successful conference management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
+ Proficiency in the Windows environment includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Oracle, CWT travel portal and Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
+ Demonstrated ability to initiate appropriate action independently as well as exercise maturity in judgment.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner which is accurate, complete, and of high quality.
+ Demonstrated use of strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Preferred
+ Knowledge of Foodservice products and organization.
+ Experience in coordinating travel scheduling.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $21.75 - $30.25 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
