    **Location:** 3681 Middle Urbana Road, Springfield, OH 45502

    **VCA Northwood Animal Hospital** is expanding its Patient Care Team and seeking a full-time **Registered Veterinary Technician** !

    **Schedule:** Full-time, 4 x 10 hour shifts, with rotating Saturdays.

    Job Responsibilities** **_(including but not limited to):_

    + Perform laboratory work in cooperation with the veterinary team

    + Effectively perform sample collections such asvenipuncture,cystocentesis, fecal collection, earcytology, etc.

    + Place IV catheters, administer vaccines, administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes

    + Prepare blood, urine, tissue, and other specimen samples for outside laboratory analysis

    + Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team

    + Digital imaging

    + Properly annotate medical records

    + Provide client education including post-surgical discharge instructions, answering client questions during technician appointments, and phone call consultations

    + Surgical preparation and monitoring, including calculation and administration of anesthetic drugs

    + Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs under the supervision of a veterinarian

    Qualifications:

    + Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or eligible to transfer state license (LVT, CVT, LVMT).

    + Proficient in anesthesia monitoring and administration.
