JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) leads a team dedicated to achieving the company’s financial objectives. This role involves producing insightful financial performance analyses, implementing effective cost accounting methods, and developing agile financial forecasting techniques. The Manager collaborates closely with their team of Financial Analysts and Cost Accountants and partners with various departments to ensure cohesive cross-functional relationships. Key to this role is providing continuous guidance and mentorship to the team, fostering their professional growth. This position is crucial in steering the financial direction of the organization, requiring a combination of analytical acumen, strategic vision, and strong leadership to support the company’s overall financial goals.
Astronics’ managerial responsibility is to protect, preserve, and enhance assets of the Company that are temporarily entrusted to you, but do not belong to you.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Managerial
+ **Strategic Planning and Goal Setting:** Develop and implement business strategies, set measurable goals that align with the organization's mission and vision, and ensure resources are allocated efficiently to achieve these goals.
+ **Team Leadership, Growth and Development:** Recruit, hire, lead, motivate, and manage a team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth, while also offering guidance and mentorship to team members.
+ **Performance Management:** Set performance standards, monitor and evaluate team and individual performance, provide constructive feedback, and address any issues to ensure high productivity and quality of work.
+ **Decision-Making and Problem-Solving:** Make informed decisions that impact the team and organization, analyze complex issues, and develop effective solutions to overcome challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
+ **Financial Management** : Oversee budgeting for assigned area, manage financial resources, ensure accurate financial reporting, and implement controls to maintain fiscal responsibility and support the organization’s financial objectives.
+ **Development Focus:** _Shift from being the expert_ : Focus on developing others rather than providing technical answers yourself.
FP&A
+ Own the financial planning and analysis function, including financial performance reporting, cost accounting and financial forecasting. Manage and mentor the FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
+ Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to enhance profitability, reduce costs, and ensure financial objectives are met.
+ Lead the development of robust financial models addressing cross-functional needs.
+ Collaborate with senior management to define and execute financial strategies in alignment with the company's goals.
+ Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
+ Drive the annual budget process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
+ Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against targets.
+ Streamline and improve FP&A processes through system enhancements and best practice implementations.
+ Champion and manage cross-functional projects to drive organizational change and impact the bottom line.
+ Stay abreast of industry trends, economic conditions, and competitive landscape to incorporate relevant factors into financial assessments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a similar field,
+ Two (2) or more years of experience in a managerial role
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
+ Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and financial modeling techniques
+ Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a keen attention to detail.
+ Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
+ Proven track record in managing teams and projects, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualification:
+ MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA)
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
+ As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.
+ An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.
Base salary range is $102,687 - $154,031 per year. (Mid-point is $128,359)
Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
At Astronics AES, it is more typical for an individual to be hired closer to the mid-point than near the top of the range.
