Manufacturing Process Engineer Overview
Drive the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to enhance safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, yield, and scrap reduction across Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering functions.
Manufacturing Process Engineer Responsibilities
Process & Configuration Management
+ Maintain and improve process documentation, work instructions, and pFEMAs.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage configuration changes, routings, and BOMs.
New Technology & Equipment Integration
+ Research and pilot new technologies.
+ Lead equipment design, installation, debugging, and qualification.
+ Submit Capital Spending Requests and support integration with minimal disruption.
Continuous Improvement
+ Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and resolve process issues.
+ Design and procure fixtures and tools using CAD software (SolidWorks).
+ Support cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives.
Production Support
+ Provide real-time technical support and troubleshooting.
+ Analyze production data to optimize processes and equipment performance.
+ Support production with CAD drawings, mechanical design, and test data analysis.
Customer & R&D Support
+ Interface with customers to address manufacturability, quality issues, and design improvements.
+ Provide cost estimates and lead-time data for new projects.
+ Support R&D and Business Development initiatives.
Manufacturing Process Engineer Requirements
+ Education: Bachelor’s in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
+ Experience: Minimum 2 years in manufacturing process engineering.
+ Skills:
+ Proficient in SolidWorks and project management tools.
+ Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt a plus), ISO 9001, FMEA.
+ Familiarity with machining processes and automation technologies.
+ Experience with statistical tools like Minitab.
+ Willingness to learn magnet fabrication processes.
