Job Title: GIS Specialist
Job Description
+ We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical GIS Specialist to support our gas utility mapping operations.
+ This role involves interpreting various records and data sources to accurately map gas infrastructure from the main to the meter.
+ The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, working with spatial data, and collaborating across teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date GIS information.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze paper records, imagery, maps, and gas network data to determine the location and connectivity of gas lines.
+ Collaborate with internal designers and field personnel to gather insights and resolve discrepancies.
+ Reconcile historical records with GIS data to ensure accurate representation of utility infrastructure.
+ Digitally map gas line connections from the main to the meter using GIS software.
+ Identify and resolve inconsistencies in utility records through investigative research and communication.
+ Maintain documentation of updates and changes to GIS data.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and field staff.
+ Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and historical records.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with gas utility infrastructure is a plus.
+ Curious and investigative mindset.
+ Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Work Environment
+ This is a one-year project, with potential opportunities for future positions.
+ The role is onsite in an office environment, working alongside various levels of the RG&E organization and the client team.
+ Although the client team is not local, you will have access to additional resources and support from the project manager and account manager.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
