    Job Title: Customer Quality EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Customer Quality Engineer to enhance our response to customer complaints and lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and implementing robust countermeasures. This role also supports new product launch activities and continuous improvement efforts within the automotive manufacturing environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Respond promptly to customer complaints with an initial 24-hour response.

    + Lead cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective countermeasures.

    + Support new product launch activities, including preparing PPAPs and submitting data for customer approvals.

    + Support PSW production runs.

    + Implement, monitor, and review SPC programs and activities.

    + Provide support and data to other departments as necessary.

    + Work continuously to reduce defects in the area of responsibility through cross-functional continuous improvement teams.

    + Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management.

    + Track continuous improvement results through measurable reports and graphs.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.

    + Capability in blueprint reading.

    + Experience in automotive manufacturing.

    + Familiarity with calipers and micrometer.

    + Knowledge of Supplier Quality, PPAP, APQP, and Automotive Quality standards.

    + Strong skills in Microsoft Office.

    + Experience as a Quality Engineer.

    + Change planning proficiency.

    + Understanding of Fishbone diagrams.

    + Competence in QA testing and Quality assurance processes.

    + Expertise in 8D and 5WHY problem-solving techniques.

    + Knowledge in metrology and CMM.

    + Skills in dimensional inspection.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 1-3+ years of experience in quality manufacturing.

    + Knowledge of APQP processes.

    + Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.

    + Experience in Metrology and dimensional layouts.

    + OEM-facing experience with companies like GM, Ford, Toyota, Stellantis.

    Work Environment

    You will be working in a first shift from 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM in a dynamic and sometimes dirty automotive environment. The facility is not temperature controlled, and there is exposure to manufacturing areas. The role involves occasional lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds. Domestic travel up to 30% may be required, based on emergency needs at customer sites. Additionally, employees are required to work one Saturday every three months on rotation. The position offers 10 days of accrued PTO based on a 40-hour work week and 6 standard paid holidays.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr.
