We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will independently design using Solidworks, manage line calls, address escalated issues, and ensure quality control. The role involves designing equipment to enhance safety, reduce costs, minimize waste, and improve quality while optimizing assembly layouts.
Responsibilities
+ Evaluate projects to define desired results and determine logical approaches.
+ Assess factors such as cost, personnel usage, equipment, and space to determine requirements.
+ Prepare feasibility studies for appropriateness and cost-effectiveness, submitting recommendations accordingly.
+ Contribute to effective management decisions in determining efficient processes, methods, machinery, tools, equipment, services, and systems needed for product manufacturing.
+ Adhere to established standards, policies, and practices related to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc.
+ Project, evaluate, specify, and acquire new or replacement machine tools.
+ Handle capital forecasting correlation and reporting for new product introductions, prime product capacity increases, machine replacement, and methods improvement.
+ Substitute materials or combine similar parts to achieve savings through material prices and machining costs.
+ Analyze tooling failures and evaluate tool characteristics and requirements.
+ Plan factory and office layouts for effective space utilization due to rearrangement, new processes, or expansion, determining the need for modern facilities.
+ Develop and implement assembly processes in line with Concurrent Process and Product Development (CPPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) design changes.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
+ Experience with 3D modeling using CAD or Solidworks.
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing, automation, validation, and schematics diagrams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Aptitude to learn and adapt.
+ Strong communication skills to engage operators and other employees as internal customers.
+ Self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage projects.
+ Preferred experience in diesel engine, automotive, aerospace, or aviation manufacturing.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position in a manufacturing setting where generators are produced. The environment is fast-paced with fluctuating volumes throughout the year, always busy and working towards tight deadlines with many moving parts. The position operates Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM on a 12-month contract.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
