    Job Title: Structural Analysis ManagerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a responsible and expert-level stress analysis engineer with some lead or management experience to help lead and direct a team of 8-10 stress analysts. You will manage the execution of mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. You will lead a team responsible for performing structural analysis to inform the design, manufacturing, construction, and licensing strategy of various advanced reactor plants.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage the utilization of engineering resources across multiple projects and ensure qualified engineers are performing assigned work.

    + Adjudicate technical differences within the area of responsibility to determine the best option while fostering a healthy engineering dialogue.

    + Lead design cycle sprints and provide direction to ensure the convergence of efforts by engineering team members, partners, and suppliers.

    + Ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering work products on schedule and within budget.

    + Manage staff by ensuring they are meeting expectations and promoting their professional development.

    + Influence the development of strategy, methodology, and technical tools for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and policy formulation.

    + Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services.

    + Use a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in operations, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.

    + Act in an advisory capacity to define scope and level of effort estimates for areas where resources would be supporting.

    + Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team to create the next generation of nuclear power plants.

    + Perform work in accordance with design control procedures, ensuring thorough documentation of work, facilitation of internal and external design reviews, and control of product design configuration data.

    + Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.

    Essential Skills

    + Hands-on experience with actual hardware and mechanical systems working through the product development lifecycle to production/fabrication.

    + Experience from highly regulated industries such as aerospace, medical device, automotive, propulsion/rocketry, or defense electronics.

    + Experience with mechanical systems structural analysis and/or dynamics analysis of similar systems like high-pressure vessels, fluid systems, reactors, boilers, and more.

    + Experience in a lead or managerial capacity, responsible for managing others' work.

    + Analytical experience with structural analysis hand calculations and structural FEA software programs such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, FEMAP, CAESAR, ROHR, LS-DYNA, PIPESTRESS.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university or college.

    + Typically, ten to twenty years of engineering experience, with graduate degrees counting as two plus years of experience.

    + Experience with structural analysis of components for industrial applications, especially nuclear power plants.

    + Application of codes and standards, such as ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code for pressure-retaining component and support design.

    + Management of cross-disciplinary teams with diverse backgrounds to perform stress/strain/deformation analysis.

    + Demonstrated history of design-analyze-build and/or manufacturing project leadership execution.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in an office environment. The organization is focused on cutting-edge clean energy systems development with significant investment projected to double in size by the end of 2025.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.
