As a Distribution Engineer, you will be responsible for collecting field data to perform design tasks such as determining pole heights, voltages, and locations. You will also attend client meetings and participate in field projects to gain knowledge of the power grid. Additionally, you will assist T2 engineers with various tasks and utilize software like SPANS, CREWS, and DDS. The role may require travel to sites, with mileage reimbursement provided.
Responsibilities
+ Collect field data for design purposes, including pole heights, voltages, and locations.
+ Attend and actively participate in client meetings.
+ Engage in field projects to understand and evaluate the power grid.
+ Assist T2 engineers with various tasks as needed.
+ Utilize software such as SPANS, CREWS, and DDS for project execution.
+ Learn and apply the PoleForeman software.
+ Travel to sites as required, with mileage reimbursement provided.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Autocad, Engineering, Design, and Distribution design.
+ Knowledge of Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical engineering principles.
+ Experience with CAD and GIS systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental).
+ Experience in distribution design is a plus.
+ Familiarity with relevant software tools.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work environment, combining field work and computer-based tasks. You will work alongside Senior Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers. This role provides an excellent opportunity to support and work on projects for one of the largest investor-owned utilities in the country, ideal for an entry-level graduate looking to gain valuable experience in the growing power and utility sector.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.85/hr.
