    Description

    This position provides essential administrative and financial support to the Public Safety department. Key responsibilities include managing payroll and timekeeping, overseeing departmental finances, processing financial documents, and supporting daily office operations. The role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of handling multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Enter and manage employee time records, including sick time, vacation, FMLA, work hour swaps, bereavement leave, and utility forms.

    + Generate and review financial reports, including reconciliations, account statements, and expenditure summaries.

    + Verify that invoices are consistent with contract terms and assist with processing payments.

    + Review and reconcile departmental credit card charges with receipts and documentation.

    + Process petty cash reimbursements and ensure proper documentation.

    + Assist with the preparation and processing of purchase orders and track order statuses.

    + Receive and process subpoenas for EMS personnel, ensuring legal compliance and timely response.

    + Provide general office support.

    + Assist in maintaining departmental files and documentation.

    + Support department leadership with special projects, as needed.

    + Strong knowledge of financial processes, accounting principles, and budgeting.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and financial management software.

    + Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.

    + Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial and personal information.

     

    Education, Experience, Licensing

     

    + Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college in accounting, finance, or a closely related field and two years of accounting, bookkeeping, or closely related experience.

    + Driver's License: Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is required.

     

    Supplemental Information

     

    The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
