You will be responsible for managing Quick's Independent Contractors (IC) and employee drivers in your assigned geographic area, working closely with Dispatch management and internal stakeholders.As a motivator for developing and implementing best practices for IC Management and employee drivers, you'll also manage Quick’s vehicle fleet and oversee activity in the area transfer warehouse and coordinate driver processes with the Quick Business Units.
How you create impact
+ Manage and oversee employee (company) drivers.
+ Interact with and provide guidance and shipment parameters to independent contractors' (ICs).
+ Coordinate network coverage for all shipments.
+ Resolve all customer related issues.
+ Thoroughly understand Independent Contractor related laws and regulations.
+ Contribute, develop & implement new procedures and policies that increase efficiencies and performance of ICs and company drivers and operations staff.
+ Manage vehicle fleet, fuel cards, and oversee vehicle repairs.
+ Ensure that ICs and company drivers are compliant with all regulations including but not limited to: TSA, DOT and Dangerous Goods.
+ Support training and development of all departmental staff related to ICs and company drivers.
+ Manage the appearance of the assigned warehouse develop shipping, receiving, inventory and re-ice procedures.
+ Develop and maintain driver coverage schedules that provides adequate company driver and IC coverage
+ Keep up to date on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance (Quick Trac, Vendor Partner, Dispatch Dashboard etc.).
What we would like you to bring
+ 5 years of industry experience or educational equivalent
+ BA/BS or equivalent work experience
+ Group leadership skills
+ Knowledge of Dangerous Goods/Restricted Article regulations (preferred)
+ Full understanding of international & domestic airline routings, Airline NYC operations, geography & time zones
+ Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license (passenger vehicle, CDL preferred)
