The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dynamic, professional, and experienced Human Services professional to provide the day-to-day supervision of mental health case managers coordinating services to clients served by DMH who are, for the most part, living in the community and receiving community-based services in the least restrictive environment possible. This individual will demonstrate a commitment to the principles of Person-Centered Care, "Community First”, Dignity of Risk, and have a working knowledge of evidenced based practices. This individual will also assess applicants to the Department in order to determine what services are needed, will collaborate with hospital and community providers to integrate hospital care with community services, and will monitor the provision of, quality of, and utilization of community services provided by agencies contracted by the State to deliver clinical and rehabilitative services in the community. Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and work with consumers and a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals is a requirement. *_ Please Note_**:* This position is 40 hours per week. The incumbent will work on the first shift, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. *_ Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive)_**:* * Provides direct case supervision and consultation to case managers by meeting on a regular basis, reviewing documentation as needed and providing consultation on difficult client issues in order to assure quality service provision. * Ensures implementation of case management regulations, policies, and procedures especially Individual Service Plan regulations and standards, to meet timelines in compliance with established standards of continuing care services. * Conducts and completes Employee Performance Reviews within prescribed timelines. * Assists the Site Director in monitoring the Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) and Program of Assertive Community Treatment Service (PACT) contracts by reviewing vouchers for accuracy, reviewing and approving billing submissions by providers, meeting with providers, identifying performance problems and offering assistance to providers in order to assure effective and efficient service delivery. * Conducts and completes Level of Care assessments on all applicable ACCS clients within prescribed timeframes and assures that the assessments and recommendations are document in the record. * With the Site Director assures that movement from Group Living Environments meets determined targets and that DMH Rental Assistance expansion targets are met or exceeded. * Participates as needed in DMH Performance Improvement activities by organizing, assessing, and presenting data in order to provide information for Site planning, decision-making and self-evaluation. * Complies with all mandatory training requirements. * Performs related duties as required. *_ Required Qualifications_*: * Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license or equivalent license from the state in which you reside. * Knowledge of psychosocial problems of those with mental/emotion disorders. * Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of counseling. * Knowledge of the types and symptoms of mental/emotional disorders. * Knowledge of the types of programs and services available to the mentally ill population, * Knowledge of interviewing techniques. * Knowledge of principles and practices of crisis intervention. * Knowledge of motivation and reinforcement techniques. * Ability to make case assessments by examining records and documents through questioning and observing clients. * Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. * Ability to evaluate and maintain accurate records. *_ Preferred Qualifications_*: * A working understanding of services provided by the Department of Mental Health and its contracted providers. * A working understanding of and demonstrated skill at monitoring community clinical and rehabilitative service contracts. *_ About Taunton Attleboro Site Office:_* Taunton Attleboro Site works to promote the recovery and resiliency of each individual it serves and to increase their capacity for independent living in the community. In addition applicants must have at least four (4) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, case management of clinical/therapeutic experience. Based on assignment, travel may be required. Incumbents who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines.
