Job Summary

Battelle is seeking an experienced professional for a **Program Manager (PM)** position within our CBRNE Business Line. The PM will build upon current capabilities and programs to secure new projects, maintain an executable technology roadmap to guide internal investment, orchestrate market engagements, and build the program infrastructure to grow into larger markets within risk-based decision support. This position is located in **Columbus, Ohio or the National Capital Region** ; however, other areas will be considered for highly qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

+ Experience capturing opportunities for federal contracts.

+ Expertise in managing programs according to federal requirements and at “exceptional” levels of program execution.

+ Expertise/experience with risk-based decision support.

+ Experience working with the federal government.

+ Proven ability to take complex technical and scientific concepts and turn them into clear and concise verbal and written forms.

+ Demonstrated understanding of capture processes to win new business including: the gate review process; developing a capture strategy; planning capture milestones, managing a capture team, ensuring the capture is executed on schedule and budget, identifying and bringing on partners and teammates, and identifying/mitigating risks to the capture.

+ Support proposal efforts by ensuring timely development and delivery of compliant, responsive, innovative and integrated technical solutions and management approaches that are competitive, cost effective, and vetted with the customer prior to RFP release.

+ Passion and drive to constantly need to improve your skill set

+ Excellent communication skills both oral and written and with all levels of management

+ Ability to speak to customers at varying levels of technical knowledge and explain mission value of products and services

+ Ability to work individually and in small fast-paced team environments

+ Collaborate across internal organizations with multi-disciplined teams to develop and execute projects

+ Interface with team leads and senior government personnel

+ Understand customer needs, identify and build critical relationships, and prospect for new and unpublished opportunities.

Key Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical field

+ 5-7 years of project management experience

+ Experience with and understanding of risk-based decision support tools, process, and quantitative modeling in the chem/bio space.

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate to executive level management, teaming partners, and customers

+ Experience capturing and executing new contracts

+ Experience recruiting and leading project teams

+ Willingness to travel to regional office sites and partner locations across the United States

+ US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

+ Graduate degree in a technical field

+ DoD acquisition experience

+ Understanding of risk-based decision support in the DoD Chemical Biological Defense Program (CBDP) or one of its components, i.e. JPEO, JSTO, JRO, Services, etc.

+ Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
