    About Business Development

     

    The mission of the Business Development group is to drive evolution and results through superior market execution across 4 focus areas: EXP Recruiting, Practice Acquisitions and Succession, Organic Value Proposition, and M&A.

     

    The Business Development group is a highly important strategic business within the Wealth Management segment of Equitable Holdings. In addition to value proposition development, it represents the in-organic growth engine for net flows, advisor productivity and margin expansion.

    Position Summary

    The Chief of Staff to the Head of Business Development is a key member of the team and serves as a central point of organization for the business, to ensure its efficiency and effectiveness in developing and driving the strategic business agenda for the organization.

     

    This highly visible role will lead and drive key strategic initiatives that will increase organizational capability and efficiency, including: change initiatives, employee engagement, communications, project management, new business ventures and logistical operations.

     

    In addition, the role is also responsible for ensuring that the Head of Business Development is fully briefed and prepared for all day-to-day professional interactions and activities, which include but not limited to research, presentation creation, executive briefings, financial reporting, monthly business reviews, Board of Director, enterprise meetings, etc. This individual will also partner with other business areas on projects and initiatives.

     

    The ideal candidate is comfortable in a high performance, fast paced, high-pressure environment. Absolute confidentiality is required. Well-developed analytical skills and superb written and verbal communication skills are a must.

     

    Key Job Responsibilities

    + Participate in and assist with the strategic and tactical business planning & implementation requiring close communication and interaction with senior leaders to ensure stated goals and objectives are executed.

    + Project management and initiative execution on all phases of assigned initiatives, working with appropriate business areas as necessary.

    + Communication strategy and plan creation and execution (including coordination with employee engagement committees and initiatives, as well as Diversity and Inclusion goals).

    + Act as a point of contact between senior management, employees and other stakeholders.

    + Support the coordination and preparation for all meetings/events chaired and/or attended by the Head of Business Development.

    + Create written and graphical presentations of business results for internal and external audiences.

    + Assist in planning and preparing for: quarterly and monthly business area operating reviews with senior executive team, enterprise activities and other outside conferences.

    + Review business financials & sales and industry reports on a periodic basis, prepare reports, trend analysis and executive summaries.

    + Involvement in annual budget preparation and annual investment plan and updates

     

    The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience

    + 4 years of complex project management experience or prior chief of staff experience

    + Deliver results in a fast-paced environment, which often requires the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

    + Resourceful, proactive and have a comfort level with working in an often-ambiguous environment, anticipating needs and staying out ahead of them

    + Exceptional integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Self-starter with strong-problem solving skills.

    + Being able to plan and organize with and through people is critical to success.

    + Extremely organized with unfailing attention to detail.

    + Ability to facilitate meetings and communicate results to project team and management; present to customers and project sponsors and play a supporting role in presentation to higher levels of management.

    + Ability to formulate clear and concise executive “messages” to internal and external audiences from complex topics.

    + Demonstrated ability in financial/quantitative data analysis.

    **Managing Multiple Priorities:** Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

    **Organizational Change Management:** Knowledge of key roles, activities and major issues affecting change management; ability to align the organization's people and culture with changes in business strategy, organizational structure, technology and business processes.

    **Project Management:** Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
