Supporting North America, North America, Europe, and Asia, we partner with leaders across Category Planning, Brand Development, and Operations to unlock insights that shape the future of retail product creation. As a Data Scientist on our team, you will dive into vast data worlds and emerge with powerful, actionable insights that propel Disney’s merchandise business forward. Using cutting-edge data science, predictive models, and analytics, you’ll transform complex data into crystal-clear stories that inform strategic decisions — all while collaborating with diverse teams and technical partners across the globe. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Merchandise Systems.
This is a Full-Time role.
What You Will Do:
+ **Lead the Charge:** Translate business needs into innovative data products and features that spark game-changing solutions
+ **Engineer with Purpose:** Build efficient, scalable data pipelines and ETL processes that power reliable, insightful datasets
+ **Tell the Story:** Craft compelling visuals and dashboards tailored to your audience, making data understandable and actionable
+ **Analyze Like a Pro:** Harness advanced analytics, machine learning, and retail metrics to uncover trends and opportunities
+ **Forecast the Future:** Develop forecasting models that predict sales, demand, and inventory needs — ensuring Disney’s magic is always in stock
Required Qualifications & Skills:
+ 3+ years creating data-driven solutions that solve real business challenges
+ Mastery in at least two data technologies (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, Python, R, or cloud platforms)
+ A flair for storytelling through data visualization — turning numbers into narratives
+ Hands-on experience with forecasting, demand planning, or merchandise systems like Oracle Retail, Blue Yonder, or Relex
+ Curiosity and quick adaptability in a fast-changing environment
+ Strong enthusiasm for collaboration and creativity
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous retail experience
+ Experience with machine learning and cloud technologies
+ Background in advanced analytics methods like regression, clustering, or time series modeling
Required Education:
+ Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or related fields
Preferred Education:
+ Master’s Degree and/or 3+ years of equivalent work experience
