    Position Opening: Human Resources Specialist II

     

    Salary: $50,000 to $60,000

     

    F/T Position: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Job Purpose:

    The Human Resources Team is dedicated to the consistent administration of HR policies and office guidelines while ensuring full compliance with all relevant employment laws. HR provides support to both staff and management in order to foster a positive and productive work environment. Our focus is on prioritizing employee well-being through continuous support, clear communication, and the promotion of a respectful, and inclusive workplace.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Educate employees on all State benefits including health insurance, DROP and FRS retirement plan

    + Assist employees navigate the initial and yearly benefits enrollment process

    + Respond to all benefits related inquiries

    + Plan and coordinate health and benefits related employee events

    + Update the HRIS proactively to ensure projections are accurate as needed

    + Communicate all payroll discrepancies relating to Leave of Absences and benefit changes to fiscal in a timely fashion

    + Manage all leave of absence programs including but not limited to:

     

    +

     

    + + Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

    + Parental Leave

    + Worker’s Compensation Administer Sick Leave Pool program Assist with recruitment process and oversee the recruitment calendar

    + Oversee recruitment files, ensuring accuracy of the documents and adherence to all applicable laws

    + Assist with onboarding process

    + Create and/or update policies and procedures as needed

    + Assist with annual performance evaluation process

    + Assist with coordination of staff training

    + Review employee records, ensuring accuracy of the documents and adherence to all laws

    + Handle all administrative task for exit interviews and communicate findings as needed

    + Back up all Human Resources staff as needed

    Qualifications:

    + Minimum of three (5) years of HR Generalist experience

    + Comprehensive knowledge of benefits and leave of absence programs

    + Knowledge of Employment Law and ability to communicate as needed

    + Must be detail-oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality as well as personal accountability

    + Strong customer service and communication skills

    + Experience in non-profit or government organizations

    + Knowledge of the Sunshine Law
