This position is located in Tallahassee, FL
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This is an entry level OPS Government Operations Consultant I budget & contract management position. Utilizing knowledge of the Statutes and Regulations governing the Resilient Florida Program this position will:
+ Assist the budget & contract management staff for the Resilient Florida Program in the Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection.
+ Coordinate directly with other DEP staff, federal agencies, and local authorities to facilitate successful completion of grants and projects.
+ Perform data entry into program and department databases.
+ Monitor the shared inboxes for the program for items that belong to the Budget & Contract Management section.
+ Coordinate and assist with the analysis of financial information in payment requests for the Resilient Florida Program, including reviewing requests for mathematical accuracy, proper documentation of costs, compliance with program agreements and regulations.
+ Coordinate the review, approvals, and processing of administrative and technical aspects of assigned projects.
+ Assists in the editing of standard operating procedures for the section.
+ The position also coordinates with the other sections and program areas in the Department in pursuit of the overall mission.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Ability to compile, review, and reconcile financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
+ Ability to consistently demonstrate positive and effective teamwork
+ Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and utilize problem-solving techniques
+ Ability to demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication
+ Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to assigned projects
+ Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work priorities and manage time efficiently
+ Ability to collect, compile, organize, and analyze data
+ Ability to use computers and other technological applications, particularly the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Ability to maintain a driver's license
Minimum Qualifications:
+ At least 1 year of verifiable related experience. Post-secondary degrees from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, budgeting, financial management, business, may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from anapproved agency (https://www.fldoe.org/teaching/certification/foreign-trained-grads/approved-credential-evaluation-agencie.stml) must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.
+ A valid driver's license
+ Ability to obtain Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) within 1 year of hire.

Pay: $18.00/hr.
