Responsibilities:
+ Document images being released to include a released data sheet and mailing if necessary and complete this process in reverse when films are returned.
+ Present self in a positive manner reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
+ Establish and maintain good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff, co-workers, supervisors, and others.
+ Maintain confidentiality of hospital and department information with no infractions.
+ Exhibit integrity, courtesy, and respect for others.
+ Employ cost conscience techniques.
+ Maintain professional, pleasant, and effective communications both internally and externally.
+ Complete patient registration for lab and radiology exams and order lab and radiology procedures.
+ Print images or prepare CDs as needed.
+ Promote the hospital's image and maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital's reputation as a healthcare center.
+ Receive patients, answer telephones, and prepare patients.
Required:
+ High school graduate or GED.
+ Must possess good oral and written skills, must be able to communicate with hospital contacts both on the telephone and directly, and effectively communicate with all age groups, populations, and individuals within the hospital.
+ Must become familiar with the hospital computer system.
+ Access to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the nurse.
Preferred:
+ Courses in typing and office procedures.
+ One (1) to two (2) years of experience.
