**UPMC Physician Services team** is hiring a flex full-time Family Support Partner to work with their team at 3420 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
**Shift/Schedule:** 28 hours per week | Monday-Friday daylight hours | One evening shift per week required
About the Role:
The Family Support Partner will collaborate as an integral member of the team to assist youth and their families. This role provides intensive peer support, guidance, and educational resources to parents and caregivers, helping them strengthen their natural support systems. By fostering positive relationships and offering structured assistance, the Family Support Partner plays a crucial role in achieving meaningful outcomes for both the youth and their families.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with knowledge of youth and family mental health services and substance use resources (preferred but not required). They should be skilled in engaging parents/caregivers, identifying family strengths, and integrating them into service delivery in a nonjudgmental way.
Key qualities include strong communication, documentation, time management, and organizational skills. They should be compassionate, flexible, creative, a good listener, and willing to share personal experiences when appropriate. A commitment to learning—including videotaping for credentialing and training—is essential. Adaptability to meet the evolving needs of youth, families, and the team is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
+ Assist the family in linking to natural and community supports
+ Assist with crisis stabilization when needed
+ Attend all mandatory trainings and become a credentialed Family Support Partner within one year.
+ Other non-essential duties as specified by the immediate supervisor
+ Provide direct support, information, and teaching to the parents/caregivers as needed
+ Seek coaching, supervision and professional input regularly and when needed
+ Work closely with other team members to assure a coordinated approach
+ Work with and help youth and families to learn skills, achieve their vision, and to become self sufficient
+ Work with youth and families to create and maintain an environment conducive with wellness & recovery
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Bachelor's degree preferred
+ Must have direct personal experience raising a child or children with a mental health and/or substance use disorder
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Driver's License
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
