The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital has three (3) academic anesthesiologist positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor. These positions are without tenure by reason of funding and is either full-time or part-time with an anticipated start date of November 2025 or thereafter. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. The base salary range for these positions will be $452,244 - $460,824 annually ($37,687 - $38,402 per month), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through the CUMG practice plan. Compensation provided by the CUMG practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Duties include the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students and the clinical care team. The successful candidate will provide pediatric anesthesia services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Work Experience
Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and have a minimum of one-year fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) in pediatric anesthesia. Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in anesthesiology and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Visa sponsorship is not available for part-time positions.
