JOB SPECIFICS
The Supervisor position will be located in the Woodbury License Center and will be responsible for the day to day operations of the license and service center in Woodbury and Cottage Grove. This position will provide supervision and leadership to a team of 20 employees. Job duties include processing and supervision of driver's license transactions, motor vehicle transactions, Department of Natural Resources transactions, marriage applications, passport application processing, assigning work schedules, completing financial reports, assisting with the budgeting process, providing high quality service, as well as other duties as assigned.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
+ Lead or supervisory experience at a busy customer service counter performing multiple tasks at the same time
+ Technical state license and title issuance experience
+ Work experience at a customer service counter
+ Work experience examining applications for completeness and issuing secure documents while following procedures and maintaining confidentiality
+ Work experience applying basic accounting skills of verifying amount due, receipting money, balancing, and problem resolution
+ Work experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook programs
+ Work experience using web based applications of various county and state programs, such as MNDRIVE, MNLARS, DVS, DNR, Marriage Application and Certification
SELECTION TECHNIQUE: Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted and the top scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.
HOURS/DAYS: 40 hours per week. Hours vary and are as follows: (Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri); 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Tue) 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.
ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $31.06 - $42.36 Hourly

EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires five years of related technical license center/public services counter experience, one year of which was lead worker experience. Associate's degree in business may substitute for 2 years of the required experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Within a year of being appointed to the position, State certification as a License Title Agent or Federal certification as a Passport Acceptance Agent must be obtained and must be renewed as required by passing a written exam. Other certifications or licenses from federal and state agencies may be required to perform the functions of the job.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and organize work at a Center location:
• Design, develop, evaluate, recommend and implement processes and procedures to insure efficiency of operation and compliance;
• Manage records retention administration;
• Manage technology implementations of new technology, enhancements or maintenance and recommends new technology as needed.
Supervise Center staff;
• Hire, train and provide work direction to staff;
• Create staff work schedules;
• Review staff work for accuracy; and
• Conduct performance reviews; investigate allegations or suspicion of employee misconduct, make disciplinary recommendations.
Provide Center customer service:
• Assist customers with obtaining items such as driver's licenses, passports, motor vehicle and boat titles, marriage licenses, and Department of Natural Resources licenses; determine if the customer has the appropriate records for the transaction;
• Conduct research for unique or unusual situations;
• Adhere to the Data Privacy Act; and
• Investigate and notify state and federal agencies of suspected fraudulent activities.
Perform a variety of financial and record maintenance duties:
• Participate in budget creation and ongoing management;
• Balance receipts and funds;
• Financial system data entry; and
• Prepare variety of reports.
Oversee buildings and security procedures:
• Develop and implement buildings and security procedures; and
• Determine action for vandalism, plumbing issues, or snow and ice removal.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is sedentary (sitting and/or standing) in nature performed within the Government Center or satellite offices. Lifting requirement of 15 - 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Wrist and finger manipulation due to filing, compiling, calculating, or computer work. Equipment used may include, but is not limited to, computer, typewriter, calculator, telephone, camera, ten key machine, bar code machine, mail opener, scanner, printer, voter equipment, microfiche reading, copier and fax machine. Work interruptions are frequent. There is some pressure associated with dealing with individuals who may be emotionally charged and with project or activity deadlines and details. Driving or riding to work at a service center, attend meetings, participate in or lead training sessions, etc. may be required. Must have own means of reliable transportation for business purposes; individuals operating a motor vehicle for county business must possess a valid driver's license.
This position may require working on Saturdays and Evening hours.
