    Nexstar Chicago is looking for an IT manager to oversee the staff of IT specialists responsible for supporting both WGN-TV and NewsNation Chicago. The ideal candidate will have advanced capability in the design, implementation and management of broadcast and IT technologies within a mission critical state-of-the-art Television broadcasting environment. Must be capable of making smart business decisions and meeting extremely aggressive deadlines. The ideal candidate requires a deep understanding of current and emerging technologies across IT, media and entertainment. Responsible for the direct supervision of the IT Specialist Staff of 6 and working side by side with members of the Broadcast System Maintenance and Operations along with the equipment installation staff. The position reports to the Director of Technology, Nexstar Chicago. This management job requires both hands-on and personnel management skills.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS:

    + Managing IT budgets, forecast, handling cash flow, and enforcing cost-effectiveness

    + Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows, MacOS, and Linux systems in News, Creative Services, and other departments.

    + Manage and maintain News production server systems, News content storage and playout systems, graphics, and editing systems.

    + Install, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with Adobe Creative Cloud installations and associated plug-ins.

    + Repair/replace/install computer hardware, including hard disk storage units, memory, peripherals, etc.

    + Perform backups and restorations on critical broadcast hardware, including high-performance RAID storage systems.

    + Configure and troubleshoot IP networks, some operating at 10Gbps and higher, with geographically distributed systems and servers.

    + Install and configure network routers and switches in coordination with Corporate IT.

    + Manage and support the Building Automation System (BAS), ensuring the reliable operation of the building's HVAC systems.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Microsoft Office 365 applications and plug-ins.

    + Manage the support of multiple remote bureaus and users in a mission-critical environment.

    + Ensure the proper monitoring and alerting of all critical systems

    + Responsible for the management and tracking of department assets

    + Manage the Freshdesk system and ensure root cause analysis and prompt closure of support tickets.

    + Develop and document (SOP's) or Technical Documents) along with best practices, and ensure they are adhered to

    + Implementing security of the network, data, and its storage and communication systems

    + Manage and oversee the support of the Building's Security Camera and Access systems.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Education:

    + BS College degree or greater preferred.

    + Minimum three years of related job experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    Applicant must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds for approximately 100 feet. Some climbing, kneeling, and crawling may be required. Manual dexterity needed to operate keyboards, mice, pushbuttons, manipulate tools, and operate equipment. Position requires a current, valid driver's license and must be capable of operating company vehicles safely when required.

    Salary Range:

    100K to 135K Annualized - - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level
