Job Title: Retail Associate
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours/Schedule: Part Time
Department/Location: Thrift Store/Bridgehampton
PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for helping the manager of the thrift store conduct the daily operation of the Retreat Boutique Thrift Store on a part time basis, including communicating and interacting with volunteers and customers, helping out with sorting donations, facilitating a safe and healthy working and shopping environment, providing excellent customer service, and generating positive net income for the agency.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Independently run the store on given days as needed or in concert with the Store Manager
+ Maintain a positive working/shopping environment.
+ Ensure store maintenance.
+ Help oversee all aspects of receiving/sorting/cleaning/evaluating donations (clothing, accessories, shoes)
+ Manage paperwork and depositing register receipts on days worked.
+ Communicate with the Thrift Store manager on daily activities at the store.
+ Develop a positive presence in the community to promote the agency.
+ Other duties as assigned.*
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Thrift Store Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Must be able available to work weekends and holidays
+ Ability to lift heavy objects (40+ lbs)
+ Background in fashion retail preferred
+ Ability to multi-task and work with a variety of people in a busy environment
+ Strong positive interpersonal skills
+ Valid/clean drivers license
+ Knowledge of thrift store operations a plus
+ Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours
+ May lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds occasionally.
HOURS:
+ Monday: 10:30-6 p.m.
+ Sunday: 11-4 p.m.
+ Any extra hours as necessary
