**Schedule:** Full Time; 40 hours/week
**Shift** **:** Days; 8:00am - 4:30pm
**Location** **:** AdventHealth Glen Oaks Hospital
The role you’ll contribute:
Performs advanced pharmacy technician duties and participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Retail Pharmacy
• Interact with patients and healthcare professionals to acquire all necessary information needed to fill a prescription. Prepare prescriptions by inputting new prescriptions into the prescription processing software adopted by the pharmacy, process insurance claims, package and label prescriptions, reconstitute medications, accept payment for prescriptions at pharmacy registers, and deliver prescriptions to patients being discharged from the hospital
• Answer phone calls and attend to the needs of patients as it pertains to the pharmacy
• Arrange for patients to speak with pharmacist if patients have questions about medication and health matters
• Maintain inventory of drugs within pharmacy and assist with purchasing
• Perform opening duties in the pharmacy, which include receiving orders from the pharmacy drug vendor and taking money and checks to the accounting department each morning
• Perform closing duties in the pharmacy, which include restocking vials and paper, cleaning countertops, counting money, closing the register, and sending daily reports to the State Prescription Monitoring Program on all controlled drugs dispensed for the day
• Troubleshoot insurance claim issues
• Respond and resolve immediate issues pertaining to patient care, and/or escalate to the pharmacy manager or director when appropriate
• Ensure that the pharmacy is stocked with sufficient amount of drugs and office supplies necessary for normal daily operation, order office supplies from Office Depot or the HUB when needed
• Ensure that the pharmacy performs monthly expiration checks on all drugs
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
+ High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
+ Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
One or more of the following:
+ Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
+ Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Health career Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
