    The role you will contribute:

    Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Under the general direction of the Chief Quality and Safety Officer the Safety Executive Director will provide safety service line strategic direction, project management, support execution of new safety processes and initiatives, redesign processes to align with the High Reliability Framework domains of Leadership, Culture, Knowledge and Learning Systems for AdventHealth in both the acute and ambulatory care settings. The Safety Executive Director must lead/facilitate performance improvement teams in collaboration with multiple clinical team leaders including facility-based Patient Safety Officers and senior administrators and team members with or without direct supervisory responsibility of team members.

    + Leads and works with operational teams to implement the framework for High Reliability Healthcare in work units throughout the organization including the acute care hospital and ambulatory settings in the four domains: Leadership, Culture, Knowledge and Learning Systems.

    + Clinical safety implementation, maintenance, sustainment, and optimization of the Epic Electronic Medical Record across the AdventHealth entire spectrum of care through.

    + Provide strategic direction and oversight, related to safety, of the following safety service lines: Laboratory, Medication/Pharmacy, Imaging, Radiation Oncology, Infusion and Surgical.

    + Facilitation and/or coordination of the AdventHealth Mortality Learning System, Perinatal Collaborative, Perioperative Taskforces (e.g. Robot Assisted Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatric/Weight-Loss Surgery).

    + Leads organization-wide Safety Culture Survey and facilitates development of and the execution of action plan(s).

    + Manages Patient Safety Academy, providing safety strategic direction and alignment to AdventHealth clinical executives and safety leaders and keeps curricula current with new teaching modalities and updated literature.

    + Designs, builds, and implements the use of the organizational culture of safety model, learning system (identifies defects and fixes them), leadership and knowledge domains.

    + Provides senior level project management support to multidisciplinary teams focusing on high-priority safety initiatives in the four domains. Serves as the content expert on improvement methodologies and imparts knowledge of improvement process to team leaders and the team. Assists the team in identifying barriers to implementing improvement plans and developing strategy to overcome these barriers.

    + Develops the analytic and measurement strategy for all projects undertaken, including development of key metrics, identification of data sources, collection of baseline data and development of a sustainability methodology.

    + Communicates regularly with team stakeholders and executive sponsors about team progress toward goal achievement, critical factors and obstacles.

    + Oversees project management and logistics such as project timelines, agenda development, production and distribution of meeting minutes and documents and preparation of reports on project status and activities to various audiences.

    + Works with the leadership and the other consultants in the appropriate Clinical spaces and Quality/Safety/Risk division to determine resource/staffing needs for projects and is accountable for managing the resources and deliverables for specific projects.

    The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

    + Master's Degree in Healthcare or related field (MSN, MBA, MHA, MPH, etc.)

    + Licensed healthcare professional (Nurse, Doctor, Pharmacist, etc.…)

    + Certification from a nationally-recognized body in a quality improvement methodology/toolset such as Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, etc. Certification in additional toolsets may be required as organizational needs evolve.

    + Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) Demonstrated completion of Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Doctorate Degree in Healthcare (MD/DO, DNP, PhD, PharmD, DPH, DPT, etc.)

    + Project Management Professional (PMP)
