Dayton-Granger, Inc., a long-standing aerospace component manufacturer, is seeking a Master Scheduler to lead the creation and management of our production schedule. This position plays a vital role in ensuring on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization, and synchronization across procurement, production, and engineering. Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, forecasting, or logistics
+ Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and strong understanding of MRP concepts
+ Demonstrated experience in master scheduling and cross-departmental coordination
+ Analytical and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
+ Strong communication skills across production, sales, and planning teams
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies
+ Experience in aerospace or other regulated manufacturing environments
+ Understanding of constraint-based (finite capacity) planning, including labor, equipment, and tooling availability
+ Familiarity with production metrics, shop capacity planning, and demand forecasting
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule using inputs such as customer forecasts, firm orders, safety stock targets, and historical sales
+ Ensure capacity constraints (labor, machines, materials, tools) are reflected in the schedule for realistic execution
+ Input and manage planned orders in the ERP system to drive material requirements and shop floor execution
+ Collaborate daily with Production Supervisors to assess resource availability and address conflicts or delays
+ Adjust priorities and reallocate resources to address schedule variances or shop floor constraints
+ Monitor daily progress against schedule to ensure on-time delivery performance
+ Communicate scheduling risks to leadership and Sales, providing lead time updates as needed
+ Analyze production trends and develop recommendations for inventory optimization and improved flow
+ Assist in resolving bottlenecks, parts shortages, and capacity constraints across work centers
+ Coordinate with Quality to ensure nonconforming materials are dispositioned quickly and do not impact delivery
+ Support Engineering by scheduling prototype builds and product development projects
+ Participate in annual physical inventory and support internal audits related to production control
+ Generate and maintain weekly performance metrics on delivery performance and production throughput
+ Follow all DG safety procedures and promote a culture of operational discipline and accuracy
