    Job Summary

    The Equipment Coordinator coordinates the Tool Crib operations, and reports to the internal construction delivery group within AEC. Tool Crib operations include ensuring trades are outfitted with tools and equipment to support successful completion of projects. You will oversee the tool inventory: purchasing, assigning, tracking, auditing, maintaining and coordinating efforts with Material Services and Purchasing partners.

    What You'll Do

    + Manage inventory of tools and equipment tag, record and track assignment of tools and equipment. Ensure new tools are properly labeled and inventory record is updated.

    + Manage tool inventory using ToolWatch Software.

    + Maintain cloud-based tool request log.

    + Assign work and coordinate activities for assisting staff.

    + Coordinate delivery of requested tools and equipment to job sites, and deliver as needed

    + Coordinate removal, storing and disposing of surplus materials from job sites and communicate availability to Supervisors and Trades.

    + Work with Procurement Services and Materials and Moving Services for purchase and delivery of tools and related supplies.

    + Create purchase orders, reconcile and approve invoices and maintain records for shop materials and tool orders.

    + Maintain schedule of maintenance for tools, equipment and safety gear.

    + Conduct monthly and annual audits to verify assignment and condition of inventory on job sites and multiple storage areas.

    + Work with Trades to identify emergent tool/equipment needs.

    + Enforce rules for requesting and returning tools and equipment.

    + Ensure issued tools meet required OSHA standards.

    + Maintain tool and equipment storage areas.

    Skills You Have

    + High School Diploma.

    + 2 or more years in logistics, distribution, asset or inventory management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Experienced in the application, management and procurement of construction tools and equipment.

    + Experienced with computer maintenance/inventory software.

    + Experienced in directing the activities of others.

    + Knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.

    + Make decisions on behalf of department management within set boundaries.

    + Demonstrate initiative in a collaborative, customer service focused work environment..

    + Promote continuous improvement.

    + Must meet University vehicle usage requirements (Valid driver's license with less than 7 points on driver’s license).

    + Can perform all tasks within the classification with or without reasonable accommodation.

    + Handling involves receiving tools and materials, opening boxes, moving boxes (weighing up to 94 lbs) and materials (of multiple sizes and weights) from floor to counter top to shelving units extending up to 8 feet.

    + Tools, equipment and materials have to be stored or retrieved from storage shelves and in multiple storage locations. May involve a lot of traveling throughout our building and buildings throughout campus in areas that are located at varying heights.

    + Access pole barn storage areas (including loft spaces) located several feet off of the ground.

    + Have to access various areas and buildings across campus with differing access/entry structures, gain access to areas that are located several feet from the floor, and navigate uneven surfaces.

    + Fueling up the JLG requires filling a 5 gallon jug with fuel (40 lbs) and transporting it to the job site. Depending on the position of the JLG, may require maneuvering self in various positions and locations on the JLG to access the fuel tank.

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Certified to operate lifts.

    + Knowledge of software for asset or inventory management.

    + Knowledge of policy and procedures used in purchasing, auditing and tracking purchases.

    + Proficient in the use of Google products, Smart Phone, or Tablet technology.

    + Familiarity with Construction Safety Standards.

    Work Schedule

    + Standard business hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
