The successful candidate will join a dedicated team, committed to serving students and their families and play a crucial role in assisting students in their transition to SUNY Oneonta.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment, expectations include but are not limited to guiding students through the transfer process, providing comprehensive support and engagement, working to promote and enroll these students and traveling to partner community colleges. Duties include but are not limited to
+ Advise prospective students and assist with academic planning.
+ Evaluate transfer credits in accordance with institutional policies.
+ Assist students through the application and enrollment process.
+ Manage and maintain records and data systems.
+ Review applications and make recommendations.
+ Establish and foster relationships with community college faculty, staff, and students
+ Deliver presentations to both small and large groups
+ Manage multiple projects successfully as needed in a time sensitive environment
+ Travel regularly to partner community colleges
+ Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Valid driver's license
+ Minimum of one year professional or two years paraprofessional experience in a university student service area
+ Demonstrated effective written communication and presentation skills
+ Ability to travel and work some evenings and weekends
+ Demonstrated Computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
+ Previous experience in academic advisement, admissions, or related area within higher education
+ Demonstrated record of being highly motivated and self-directed
+ Experience working with DegreeWorks, Ellucian Banner and/or Slate
+ Spanish proficiency
+ Experience working with and serving diverse populations
