    The Opportunity

     

    This position can work out of our Plymouth, MN location, in our Structural Heart Division.

    Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.

     

    As the Staff Machine Design Engineer; you'll be responsible for Design and Facilitate fabrication of tooling, fixtures and equipment for manufacturing automation.

    What You’ll Work On:

    + Collaborate with internal customers to provide mechanical design concepts for manufacturing and test equipment.

    + Ability to work effectively with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.

    + Support the development of automated equipment and Establish machine specifications.

    + Evaluate process and design alternatives based on Design for Manufacturability principles.

    + Establish knowledge base of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.

    + Collaborate with vendors on procuring materials, services, and equipment

    + Troubleshoot new and existing automated equipment.

    + Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

    + Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, decisions, and results.

    + Collaborate with team members to develop solutions to advanced process requirements.

    + Align with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

    + Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or associate’s degree in equipment technology with 15-20 years relevant experience

    + 7-15 years of Engineering Design experience

    + Strong understanding of design principles for machining.

    + Experience with crafting and fabricating automated manufacturing equipment for low and high-volume processes.

    + Good communication skills and the ability to interact with the organization

    + Good working knowledge of SolidWorks CAD.

    + Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

    + Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a dynamic, changing environment.

    + Lead and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

    + Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

    + Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally

    The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
