Associate CAD Engineer– Footwear Engineering (Timberland)
What will you do?
A day in the life of the CAD Modeler for Global Footwear Engineering looks a little like this.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering for Footwear, you will use computer-aided design (CAD) software to review and edit 2D and 3D technical drawings. You will play a crucial role in translating design ideas into digital blueprints and prototypes, ultimately contributing to the development of physical products and structures.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
**What you will do** :
+ Use specialized software (like Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.) to review, coordinate the approval of, and file all 2D technical drawings and 3D models throughout the product development cycle.
+ Identify and resolve design issues, refine models, and make necessary revisions to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to Timberland’s technical drawing and molding standards.
+ Create the bill of material template in our product line management software.
+ Manage the printing of 3D parts and prototypes.
**How you will do it** :
+ Work closely with engineers, developers, designers and other stakeholders to understand design requirements, incorporate feedback, and ensure designs meet specifications.
+ Keep up with the latest advancements in CAD software, materials, and design techniques.
+ Apply your creative and technical skills to motivate and inspire designers to advance Timberland product offerings.
+ Responsible for communicating with the Asia and Stratham product teams to launch molded components seasonally.
+ Prepare and maintain detailed design drawings.
What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundational skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education such as a bachelor’s degree in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 2-3 years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundational skills you will need in this position are:
+ A demonstrated aptitude using digital 3D Design applications, i.e., Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Z-brush, etc.
+ Proficiency in 2D computer-aided design (CAD), Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
+ The ability to work in an extremely creative, fast-paced team environment.
+ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written (in English).
+ The ability to manage multiple projects during the product creation cycle.
+ An exceptional understanding of the retail product creation process.
+ Preferred experience with product line management applications, i.e. PTC’s FlexPLM.
+ Preferred experience developing compression and injection molds.
+ The capability to travel domestically and internationally once or twice a year.

Hiring Range** **:
$52,000.00 USD - $65,000.00 USD annually
**Incentive Potential** : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
