    Lead Technician

    A-Gas Rapid Recovery is the number one service provider of refrigerant recovery services for the HVAC, refrigeration, demolition, and marine industries. Projects range in size from single residential split systems to chilling systems operating on tens of thousands of pounds, to projects with thousands of units. The primary purpose of this role is to drive business development for the company to meet gas acquisition goals through our Rapid Recovery Network Services.

     

    What will you do?

     

    The Lead Technician is an expert in the areas of refrigerant recovery, A-Gas Rapid Recovery proprietary equipment, and a Coach who can inspire and help direct the Field Service Technicians. This individual is responsible for supporting the Field Services Manager by acting as a peer-mentor and coach to the techs in the territory, completing complex job site services, ensuring repair and preventative maintenance of equipment, providing excellent customer satisfaction, and filling in for the Field Services Manager as needed. The Lead Technician is also a safety champion that ensures safe work practices in all situations.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Assist Field Services Manager in providing leadership, organization, scheduling, and technical support to field service technicians in their market

    + Coaching should focus on helping other technicians improve their technical skills, knowledge, and overall performance.

    + Investigate and effectively resolve any customer concerns in a timely manner

    + Communicate successfully with both customers and technicians utilizing strong attention to detail and professionalism

    + Be able to perform service jobs

    + Ensure assigned vehicles are properly maintained and kept in a presentable condition

    + Report daily work orders in Salesforce and weekly expenses through SAP Concur in a timely manner

    + Utilize Salesforce to plan and keep track of sales activities, create Field Service Opportunities, and close work orders

    + Ability to independently solve problems by utilizing company provided resources and ingenuity

    + Must be a team player and able to interact successfully with business partners throughout the organization

    + Must be able to see the bigger picture and discern how actions affect the broader business

    + Willingness and ability to be on the bench for future Field Services Manager open positions

    + Demonstrate and uphold a strong safety mindset in the workplace

    + Other duties as reasonably requested

     

    Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

     

    + A high school diploma or GED required

    + Minimum of 2 years related industry or mechanical experience required

    + Must hold state-issued driver's license, be at least 21 years old with a clean driving record

    + Must have the ability to work flexible hours, overtime may be required

    + EPA Universal Certification required or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment

    + CDL Class C with HazMat Endorsement required, or ability to obtain certifications within 90 days of employment

    + Must possess the technical knowledge to perform the job using proprietary equipment and follow all safety procedures

    + Computer skills required with the ability to type and utilize current technology

    + Must have intermediate skills using Microsoft Office products, iPhone technology, and Salesforce

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers

    Preferred Qualifications

    + HVAC/specialty gas industry experience

    + Previous Sales and Business Development Experience

    + Experience leading and developing a team of employees

    + Experience using SAP People and Concur

     

    Physical Demands

     

    + Must be able to work outside in the weather-related elements

    + A lot of time will be spent in the truck, driving

    + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear

    + This position entails very heavy work which requires exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally (possibly up to 350 pounds), and/or in excess of 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move/lift objects

    Pay for this role will be commiserate with candidates experience. This role will be eligible for $26.00-30.00 hourly.
