    Job Summary

    The Maintenance Machinist is responsible for Set-up, operation, and performing preventative maintenance on the equipment in the Machine Shop area to include EDM, training, leading projects and problem solving.

     

    Work Hours

    6:30AM-7:00PM

    4-on-4-off, including weekend rotation

     

    Position will require working up to 5 days consecutively as needed

    Job Responsibilities

    + Works from tool and product design prints, sketches, electronics, electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics and specifications, manuals, tables, written and/or verbal instructions, troubleshoot, diagnose malfunctions, tear down, determine extent of problems, repair damaged mechanisms or replace worn or defective parts and reassemble.

    + Perform lay out work which requires use of advanced mathematical procedures.

    + Checks by intricate gaging, all types of tools, dies, patterns, jigs, fixtures, gages, templates, etc. requiring the use of advanced mathematics, trigonometry, or geometry.

    + Perform mechanical repairs, replacement of mechanical and electronic fabrication of parts and/or framework, upgrade existing plant equipment.

    + Perform mechanical work in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment including but not limited to extrusion, milling, press and related supporting equipment that use pneumatics, hydraulics, basic machine controls, air compressors, ventilation equipment, and material handling equipment.

    + Communicate accurately, concisely, and professionally with your team as to important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion as related to downtime and projects.

    + Demonstrate a sense of urgency, accountability, professionalism, self-motivation as related to downtime and projects.

    + Demonstrate and utilize skill proficiency in welding, fabrication, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge in daily tasks and to support improvement initiatives.

    + Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Identify and resolve potential safety hazards.

    + Makes own setups and devises special attachments for performance of job.

    + Lubricates, cleans equipment, and adds coolant.

    + Perform building, equipment, and environmental checks to ensure the safe operation.

    + Participate, make recommendations, and support actions World Class Manufacturing in Safety, Department, Plant, and Improvement initiatives such as SMED and Kaizen events.

    + Maintains and records all documentation as needed.

     

    Job Qualifications and Requirements

     

    + Associates Degree preferred; High School diploma required.

    + 3-5 years of machine shop experience in a manufacturing environment

    + Advanced mathematics

    + Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Excellent organization skills, ability to prioritize demands and multi-task to complete objectives.

    + Ability to read, understand and follow safety information, operating instructions, blueprints, schematics, and procedure manuals.

    + High attention to details.

    + Ability to build relationships with our internal and external partners/customers.

    + Demonstrate integrity, maturity, and a constructive approach to challenges.

    + Efficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Access.

    + Possesses professional written and verbal communication skills.

     

    The expected compensation range for this role is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour.

     

    The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
