    At V2X, we are at the forefront of developing decision support tools that are critical to the protection of our forces when faced with physical and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear (CBRN) threats. As a Software Test Lead supporting the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND), you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, reliability, and operational readiness of software solutions that safeguard our national defense. You will lead a team of skilled QA engineers, guiding them in planning, designing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to validate both new features and existing systems.

     

    In this leadership role, you will collaborate closely with software developers, project managers, and DevOps teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and mission-critical requirements. You will oversee the development and execution of both manual and automated test cases, leveraging modern test tools and CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and coverage. As a key contributor to continuous process improvement, you will implement best practices for test automation, ensure effective resource allocation, and drive defect resolution efforts.

    + Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive test strategies across multiple software projects.

    + Oversee the development and execution of manual and automated test cases.

    + Ensure coverage of functional, integration, regression, performance, and UAT testing.

    + Validate containerized and microservices-based applications in Kubernetes environments.

    + Manage test planning activities:

    + Develop test schedules, allocate resources, and assess risks to meet project deadlines.

    + Coordinate test environment setup and ensure readiness for different test phases.

    + Supervise and mentor QA engineers, providing technical leadership and growth opportunities.

    + Conduct regular code reviews and provide feedback on automation scripts and test approaches.

    + Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.

    + Establish and enforce standardized QA processes and best practices across projects.

    + Define reusable test frameworks, templates, and procedures.

    + Work closely with product owners, developers, DevOps, and project managers to:

    + Define clear acceptance criteria and success metrics.

    + Align test objectives with business and mission-critical goals.

    + Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement and sprint planning.

    + Evaluate, implement, and maintain automated testing tools and frameworks.

    + Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

    + Promote continuous testing practices to support rapid and reliable deployments.

    + Facilitate defect triage meetings and manage the bug lifecycle.

    + Track issues from discovery to resolution in collaboration with development teams.

    + Provide stakeholders with regular updates on testing progress and quality status:

    + Deliver test metrics, dashboards, and risk assessments to support decision-making.

    + Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on test results and post-release feedback.

    Qualifications

    + Education / Certifications:

    + Minimum:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (BSCS), Information Technology, Software Engineering, or other related fields.

    + Preferred but not required:

    + Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or other related fields

    + Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP)

    + CompTIA Security+

    + Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

    + Security Clearance:

    + Secret, or Ability to Obtain

    + Experience

    + 5-8+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing

    + 3–5+ years in a QA leadership or test lead role, guiding teams and managing test activities

    + Experience working in or supporting government, defense, or high-assurance environments is strongly preferred

    + Proven experience designing and executing various types of tests:

    + Functional, Regression, Integration, UAT, Performance, and System Testing

    + Strong background in automated testing using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Postman, REST-assured, K6, or similar

    + Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or other DevOps tools

    + Hands-on experience testing microservices and containerized applications

    + Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm charts, YAML configurations, and cloud-native deployments

    + Ability to validate infrastructure components like ConfigMaps, Secrets, service meshes (Istio, Linkerd), and network policies

    + Experience leading cross-functional QA teams, including mentoring junior testers and assigning responsibilities

    + Skilled at working with product owners, developers, and DevOps to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality benchmarks

    + Experience conducting defect triage, tracking bug resolution, and managing QA deliverables in an Agile or hybrid SDLC

    + Familiarity with testing in regulated or compliance-heavy environments

    + Understanding of security, data integrity, and traceability standards relevant to defense or mission-critical applications

    + Supervisory Responsibilities:

    + Supervise day-to-day activities of QA engineers across multiple projects or product line.
