This approach leads to scalable platforms that enable new material compositions, new form factors, advantaged attributes, and industry-leading profitability. The candidate must have solid background in physics, materials science, engineering principles and be interested in applying his/her skills to solve forming technology challenges.

In this role, the candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to address all aspects of materials forming in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include developing modeling frameworks, designing equipment and experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and advancing fundamental understanding. We are looking for disciplined and self-motivated candidates, someone with a positive attitude and ready to be a team player.

    Responsibilities

+ Innovate forming technologies using first principles to enable new glass / glass ceramic compositions and form factors.

+ Advance capabilities with existing forming platforms in support of current and emerging opportunities.

+ Work with cross-functional, global teams across research, development, and engineering to quickly devise and implement solutions to forming and materials challenges.

+ Develop and deliver novel technology designs / approaches to production.

+ Drive process measurement and data analysis to optimize forming processes and improve product quality.

+ Utilize / support numerical modeling to guide equipment and process development, gaining insights into thermodynamics, heat transfer, electrical properties, structural properties, material behavior and fluid dynamics in forming systems.
