The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist for the SON Graduate Programs. The Administrative Support specialist coordinate day to day administrative operations in support of the graduate nursing program, working closely with the program director, faculty, and students. Responsibilities for this position include coordination with faculty to ensure timely submission of instructional information and manage program documentation, prepare and maintain program metrics, databases, facilitate communication and develop and distribute program announcements and materials to students, faculty, clinical partners and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be expected have excellent customer service skills, and to provide support, guidance and resources to nursing students, as well as to parents, prospective students, and to the School of Nursing Director, Administration, faculty and staff.

The John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences ( HCHHS ) comprises six departments and the School of Nursing. The HCHHS offers the following undergraduate degree programs; Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Services Management, Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, and Social Work, Sociology. At the graduate level, HCHHS offers four graduate degree programs including the Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (PA program), Master of Social Work ( MSW ), Master of Science in Health Psychology and PhD in Social Work. Three additional doctoral programs being are being developed; Doctor of Nurse practice ( DNP ), PhD in Applied Psychology, and PhD in Sociology. The HCHHS is also home to the Center of Excellence in Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research ( CIHDER ), a hub for multidisciplinary research and community engagement efforts to alleviate health inequities. The HCHHS capitalizes on the synergistic relationships between these departments to develop advanced academic health science programming, enhance the training of healthcare practitioners, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary research and scholastic activity.
The School of Nursing is dedicated to equipping individuals for the nursing profession, ensuring they possess the essential skills and knowledge for quality, safe, patient-centered care. Our comprehensive program offerings include traditional bachelor of science in nursing ( BSN ) tracks, Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( ABSN ), and RN to BSN pathways, catering to a diverse range of educational needs. Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred:
+ Experience with technical platforms such as Banner and PeopleAdmin.
+ Possess innovative/forward-thinking skills.
+ Ability to be delegated and perform administrative tasks in higher education.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and faculty.
+ Ability to communicate with people from diverse background
+ Possess two to three years working experience in administration in higher education.
