    A global scientific instrumentation and software company is hiring a DevOps Engineer to support a core product team based in New Castle, DE. The team builds analytical devices used across pharma, food, and chemical industries for highly precise testing and research. The role will focus on a Yocto-based embedded Linux environment and infrastructure automation. Hybrid schedule, 3 days onsite per week.

     

    The standout aspect of this role is the ability to work at the intersection of DevOps and embedded systems—supporting Linux image builds, working close to hardware, and collaborating across device and infrastructure teams. Experience with Yocto, BitBake, or OpenEmbedded is highly relevant. Ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work with Linux internals and automation tools, and who wants to contribute to building a modern environment from the ground up. There's also long-term potential to gain experience in cloud infrastructure as the environment evolves.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Strong experience with embedded Linux systems

    • Hands-on experience with Yocto, BitBake, or OpenEmbedded

    • Scripting experience (Bash, Python, etc.)

    • Experience with Docker and Terraform

    • Comfortable working onsite 3 days per week in New Castle, DE

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Experience building custom Linux images

    • Familiarity with device-level debugging or testing

    • Prior experience in a scientific or regulated industry

    • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.)
