Senior Director of Accounting, Practice Management

This Role:
Manage a team that maintains financial data pertinent to the finance records and prepare business financial reports for multiple business accounts. Partners with SVP on strategic planning and expansion opportunities including vendor review and technology implementation to assist with department tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manages a team that completes the following tasks and should be individually capable of completing these tasks and training others on proper completion
+ Maintains and records all activity in the General Ledger
+ Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
+ Prepares all documentation for client tax return to be submitted to client CPA tax preparer
+ Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions
+ Prepares invoices, expenses and reimbursement payments, account statements, reports and other records and reviews them for accuracy
+ Processes HSA and 401k funding for payroll and reconciles all documentation
+ Monitors loans and accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date
+ Reconciles and recommends resolution for financial report discrepancies and problems
+ Reconciles bank statements and prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
+ Creates and analyzes business financial reports including revenue and cost reports and analysis
+ Coordinates and prepares financial information for internal and external audit
+ Supports creation and maintenance of an annual client financial budget and forecast
+ Supports client payroll processing including calculation review and file submission

Required:
+ Must be technologically proficient with substantial experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
+ Knowledge of QuickBooks required
+ Must have detailed accounting knowledge including G/L, A/R, A/P, financial statements and reporting
+ Ability to multi-task, work effectively and independently, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
+ Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records
+ Ability to prepare (create and run) financial reports, write business correspondence and assist in the development and update of procedural manuals
+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports, legal documents or government regulations
+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, and/or boards of directors
+ Ability to research and resolve technical issues
+ Must possess fluent knowledge of financial systems; NetSuite knowledge a plus
+ Must have experience managing organizational change including implementation of controls and processes for delivery of services – managing international teams a plus
+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Preferred:
+ CPA preferred
