    General Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Two years of related experience or experience in a related field. Certifications may be required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

    Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

    Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the Graduation Team and the Office of the Registrar.

    Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):

    Analyzes degree plans comprehensively, demonstrating intermediate proficiency in all program requirements, including majors, minors, and their specific criteria, while calculating grade point averages and noting deficiencies. Confirms candidates’ eligibility for degrees, tracking initial status through to final decisions, ensuring accurate awarding or denial of degrees at the end of each term. Examines and interprets advisor’s notes in conjunction with submitted exception forms. Keeps thorough records of communication exchanges with students. Effectively communicates and engages with internal and external stakeholders. Processes various curriculum changes received in Banner in accordance with the various restrictions associated with degrees, majors, and minors. Generates reports through Cognos software to verify accuracy of student data. Manages scanned documentation of confidential student records. Assists with critical aspects in the preparation of commencement. Confirms degree candidate names for inclusion in the commencement program, recognition of graduation honors, and preparation of seating cards for participating candidates and honor recipients. Prints diplomas for eligible candidates and arranges for mailing. Participates in all commencement ceremonies, involving physical exertion during setup, throughout each event, and during cleanup. Requires prolonged standing. Responsible for both setup and breakdown of various components for commencement. Assists with specialized projects as needed. Must comply with Family Educational Right to Privacy Act ( FERPA ) regulations and exercise a high level of confidentiality regarding student records. Possess a thorough understanding of applicable institutional policies and procedures, state and federal laws, professional standards, student privacy, and record keeping. Performs additional duties as assigned to support the mission and objectives of the Graduation Team, Registrar’s Office, and the university community.
