    SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TECHNICAL LEAD

GDIT is seeking a highly skilled AI/ML training engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate combines a strong foundation in data science, software engineering, and applied mathematics, with hands on experience in modeling training and deployment workflows

    HOW A** **SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TECHNICAL LEAD W** **ILL MAKE AN IMPACT

    Responsibilities** **:

    + Design, develop, and train machine learning models using state of the art tools and frameworks

    + Build efficient data pipelines to clean, transform, and prepare large scale datasets for training

    + Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and apply tuning techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency

    + Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and product stakeholders to define ML solutions that align with business objectives

    + Track experiments, manage model versions, and document model training artifacts for reproducibility

    + Support model deployment by working with SRE and contributing to scalable inference architectures

    + Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in AI/ML research and tools

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

    Required:

    + Proficient in Python and ML focused libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit learn, pandas, and NumPy

    + 10+ years of progressive IT experience.

    + Experience building and training machine learning models across supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning domains

    + Hands on experience with model evaluation, hyperparameter turning, and validation strategies

    + Experience with the best practices securing data for AI systems

    + Familiarity with experiment tracking and version tools

    + Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS

    + Comfortable with GPU/TPU acceleration and resource optimization for large scale training

    + Ability to clearly explain model decisions and trade offs to both technical and non-technical audiences

    + Experience working in federal client facing or consulting roles

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Experience with transformer models, natural language processing, or computer vision

    + Familiarity with model deployment and containerization tools

    + Exposure to MLOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for model release management

    + Experience working with Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee

    The likely salary range for this position is $161,158 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
