    Belcan is expanding our network of experienced 1099 consultants to support clients in the automotive and industrial sectors. We're seeking professionals with expertise in Operational Technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), and plant engineering to support project-based work focused on improving system performance, security, and reliability.

     

    Consultants must be able to work independently, deliver measurable results, and quickly adapt to new environments. Most roles are short- or medium-term contracts with competitive compensation and the opportunity to work with top-tier OEMs and suppliers.

    Focus Areas:

    Security-Focused Roles

    (OT Security Practitioner, ICS/SCADA Security Engineer, OT Architect)

    * Secure OT and ICS/SCADA systems in production environments

    * Perform risk assessments, implement access controls, and ensure compliance with NIST and IEC standards

    * Support incident response, system hardening, and industrial cybersecurity programs

     

    Engineering & Maintenance Roles

    (ICS Engineer, OT Engineer, SCADA Operator, PLC/CNC Technician)

    * Design, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial control systems, including PLCs and HMIs

    * Support manufacturing automation, reduce downtime, and improve process reliability

    * Lead technical documentation and updates to SOPs and maintenance protocols

     

    Leadership & Management Roles

    (OT Manager, OT Architect, Director of IT Operations with OT focus)

    * Oversee OT infrastructure, plant systems, and team leadership

    * Align OT initiatives with broader IT, security, and operational goals

    * Drive modernization, risk reduction, and cross-functional collaboration

    Qualifications:

    * 15+ years of experience in OT, ICS, or industrial systems engineering

    * Strong technical knowledge of control systems, network security, and industrial automation

    * Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, preferably automotive

    * Ability to travel to client sites as needed for on-site engagements

    * Independent, solution-focused, and comfortable operating in fast-paced environments
