Job Description: Senior Accountant
Salary: $90K-115K
My client is hiring a Senior Accountant who will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and assisting with financial reporting and regulatory compliance. This position involves reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, analyzing financial statements, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance business operations and financial decision-making.
Key Functions & Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
+ Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
+ Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
+ Support financial audits by preparing necessary schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
+ Participate in and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
+ Ensure timely completion of accruals, deferrals, and reconciliations.
+ Review financial data for inconsistencies and recommend adjustments or corrections as needed.
+ Perform reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other financial records.
+ Analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial results, providing insights and recommendations.
+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and ensure data accuracy.
+ Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and internal company policies.
+ Document and monitor financial processes and procedures to support internal controls.
+ Assist in the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
+ Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency enhancements.
+ Work closely with cross-departmental teams to provide financial guidance and support.
+ Train and mentor entry level accounting staff as needed.
+ Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to support organizational goals.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.
+ Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience.
+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
+ Proficiency in accounting software.
+ Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
