Description
We are looking for a dedicated Manager of Financial Reporting to join our team in Portland, Maine. This leadership role requires a strong background in financial services and accounting, with a focus on delivering accurate financial statements and overseeing key reporting processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in wealth management and portfolio accounting, along with a commitment to driving organizational success.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Manage and oversee the budgeting process, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Supervise the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Coordinate year-end reporting and profit-sharing documentation to meet organizational goals.
• Lead audits and ensure proper reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Support financial planning initiatives, delivering actionable insights to drive growth.
• Utilize and maintain accounting software systems, with a preference for QuickBooks and Tamarac.
• Collaborate with portfolio management teams to align financial reporting with wealth management objectives.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering growth and development.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Proven expertise in wealth management, portfolio management, or related areas.
• Strong proficiency in preparing financial statements, budgets, and tax returns.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks; experience with Tamarac is a plus.
• Solid understanding of auditing processes and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage complex financial tasks.
• Ability to lead and mentor teams effectively.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
