    Description

    We are looking for a detail-oriented and service-driven Member Services Specialist to join the team of a local credit union. This role supports our members by performing a variety of duties including teller transactions, account servicing, plastic card administration, and IRA account support.

     

    This is a member-facing role that requires professionalism, accuracy, and a strong focus on building relationships. The ideal candidate has experience in financial services and a commitment to delivering exceptional service in a team-oriented environment.

    Teller Operations:

    + Welcome members and provide prompt, courteous assistance.

    + Accurately process financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and account changes.

    + Maintain and balance a cash drawer; resolve any discrepancies.

    + Follow all applicable State and Federal regulations and internal procedures.

    Member Account Services:

    + Open new accounts including savings, checking, money market, certificates, and IRAs.

    + Assist members with account maintenance, research requests, transfers, and online banking support.

    + Recommend products and services based on individual needs and account activity.

    + Handle requests such as address changes, wire transfers, and other member inquiries.

    Plastic Card Administration:

    + Assist members with debit and credit card questions, including reporting lost or stolen cards and reviewing possible fraud.

    + Order debit and credit cards and complete related administrative tasks.

    + Maintain accurate card records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

    IRA and Retirement Account Services:

    + Open and maintain Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

    + Support members with IRA transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and RMDs.

    + Stay current on IRA rules and financial product knowledge through training and continuing education.

    General Support & Administration:

    + Answer phone calls and assist or route inquiries as needed.

    + Complete assigned administrative tasks, account reviews, and reporting.

    + Help maintain a professional and welcoming branch environment.

    BENEFITS OFFERED:

    -SALARY RANGE: $25.00-$29.00/hour

    Requirements • Proven experience in banking or financial services, with a focus on customer service and account management.

     

    • Proficiency in banking software, accounting systems, and other financial tools.

    • Strong ability to handle member inquiries and resolve discrepancies with professionalism.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with members.

    • Familiarity with promoting financial products and services based on customer needs.

    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy.

    • Knowledge of regulations and policies governing financial institutions.

    • Experience with administrative or back-office functions in a financial setting is a plus.
