    Description

    Our client in The Woodlands is searching for an Accounts Payable Specialist on a contract to hire basis. This role supports company operations by managing the accounts payable process in a high-volume environment, ensuring accurate and timely GL coding, invoice approvals, accrual postings, reconciliations, and compliance with company policies. The Accounts Payable Specialist will also oversee vendor management, corporate credit card programs, and employee expense reimbursements while identifying process improvement opportunities. Cross-functional collaboration with logistics, sales, plant locations, and executive teams is essential.

    Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

    + Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice approvals, coding, and payments.

    + Post month-end accruals, reconcile assigned GL accounts, and prepare month-end adjustments.

    + Analyze expenses, review aging open POs, and ensure accuracy in reporting.

    + Administer corporate credit card programs, train users, and monitor expense compliance.

    + Oversee vendor relationships, reconcile vendor statements, and ensure accurate 1099 and W-9 processing.

    + Support audits, tax compliance, and special projects.

    + Drive continuous improvement in AP automation and process efficiency.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

    + 7+ years of accounts payable experience in high-volume environments.

    + Expertise in Excel (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables) and experience with large ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

    + Familiarity with Concur is a plus.

    + Strong time management, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
