Description

We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Clerk to join our team in Markham, Illinois. This Contract position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with payroll and administrative experience, particularly within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting payroll processes, office management, and administrative tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly payroll and generate project-specific certified payroll reports.

• Prepare detailed Excel spreadsheets and various high-quality documents using Microsoft Word, including proposals, transmittals, and letters.

• Assist with accounts payable, HR tasks, and contract administration.

• Manage office and kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and equipment.

• Create and maintain a secure filing system for confidential documents.

• Update jobsite notices, hiring packets, safety logs, and contracts as needed.

• Schedule meetings and travel arrangements efficiently.

• Perform special projects and administrative tasks as assigned.

• Coordinate the shipment of materials and documents.

The salary range for this position is $24/hr. to $25/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements

• High school diploma is required.

• Bilingual English/Spanish written and verbal skills a plus

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing.

• Familiarity with union payroll and construction industry practices is highly preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for creating spreadsheets and documents.

• Experience in accounts payable and HR administration is essential.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle incoming calls and manage filing systems.

• Excellent communication skills for coordinating office activities and supporting team members.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
