Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone eager to advance their accounting skills while supporting community association management solutions. In this role, you will handle a variety of financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all transactions.
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable packets, including posting invoices and issuing checks in a timely manner.
• Record accounts receivable transactions and miscellaneous payments, collaborating with accountants to ensure all entries are accurate and complete.
• Verify and reconcile expense reports with account balances and other office records.
• Facilitate vendor payments, including verifying federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
• Handle petty cash documentation, distribution, and reconciliation.
• Calculate and report sales tax based on paid invoices.
• Identify opportunities for discounts and issue purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as necessary.
• Support month-end close processes, ensuring financial records are up-to-date.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the accounting department. Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Strong skills in account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with bookkeeping practices and data entry.
• Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks and TOPS.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and reporting.
• Understanding of month-end close procedures and payroll processes.
• Knowledge of property management accounting practices.
• Ability to post payments accurately and ensure compliance in financial documentation.
