    Job Title: Senior Project/Cost Accountant (Fully Remote)

     

    Pay: $38 - $45/hour (Contract) | $85,000 to $100,000/year (upon conversion)

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Project/Cost Accountant to join a growing team. This fully remote role requires expertise in project accounting, cost analysis, certified payroll, and contract management, particularly in industries like construction or other project-based fields. The successful candidate will be an advanced user of Sage 300 and Microsoft Excel (utilizing V-lookup and Pivot Tables) and ideally have familiarity with Vista & Sage 300 software. The ability to effectively support job costing, budgeting, and contract reconciliation while working across teams is essential to this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Manage and oversee job cost accounting by tracking, reconciling, and reporting project costs throughout each job's lifecycle.

    + Work with project managers to review, monitor, and align project budgets with costs, contracts, and sales orders.

    + Obtain necessary bonds for jobs and ensure all compliance documentation is in place.

    + Administer and track certified payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines for applicable projects.

    + Reconcile sales orders with project costs and budgets to ensure all numbers align.

    + Collaborate with project teams and managers to develop budgets, address variances, and navigate financial approvals or corrections.

    + Generate detailed and accurate financial and job cost reports utilizing Sage 300 and advanced Excel tools like V-lookup and Pivot Tables.

    + Support financial tasks using Vista software if applicable.

    + Act as an essential communication bridge between accounting and project teams, offering detailed insights to support effective decision-making.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area of study.

    + Experience in the Construction industry or related field

    + 3+ years of experience in project or cost accounting, preferably within construction or other project-based environments.

    + Advanced proficiency in Sage 300 and Microsoft Excel (must have experience with V-lookups and Pivot Tables).

    + Familiarity with Vista software is a plus but not required.

    + In-depth understanding of job costing, certified payroll processes, budgeting, and contract administration

    + Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across remote teams and functions.

    + Comfortable and reliable working remotely while adhering to PST business hours.

    Additional Details:

    The successful candidate will begin this role on a contract basis with a competitive hourly rate of $38 to $45/hour. Upon successful performance and conversion to a permanent position, the role transitions to an annual salary of $85,000 to $100,000, depending on experience and performance.
